About Cambridge NeuroWorks
Cambridge joins forces with the Advanced Research and Invention Agency (ARIA) to accelerate a new generation of neurotechnologies designed to treat conditions such as depression, dementia, chronic pain, epilepsy, and injuries to the nervous system.
Neurological and mental health disorders affect four in five people in their lifetime, presenting a greater overall health burden than cancer and cardiovascular disease combined. Neurotechnology - where technology is used to control and interact with the nervous system - has the potential to deliver groundbreaking treatments that redefine possibilities for care.
The partnership with ARIA is exhilarating, because it will empower us to give brilliant people the tools to turn their original ideas into scalable, commercially viable devices that can have a global impact."

Cambridge NeuroWorks is an innovative programme dedicated to supporting the development of transformative technologies, from electronic brain implants to brain-computer interfaces, designed to improve lives worldwide. By focusing on reducing risks and side effects of neuro-interventions and ensuring accessibility, we aim to pioneer a future where neurological conditions no longer limit human potential.
At the heart of Cambridge NeuroWorks is an environment where the UK’s brightest minds can collaborate, take bold risks, and push boundaries without fear of failure. By fostering fearless innovation, we are creating a launchpad for the future of neurotechnology.
Our core values

Cambridge NeuroWorks will be delivered through 2 core streams:
Our Programmes
What If: This ideation programme is open to individuals who need support to understand how to develop their early-stage idea. This Programme is run by the Milner Therapeutics Institute, and forms part of the Blue Sky Fellowships.
Blue Sky Fellowship: Seeking radical thinkers with disruptive ideas to rapidly test and develop their technologies in Cambridge. This Fellowship is run by the Maxwell Centre and is jointly hosted by the Milner Therapeutics Institute and the Maxwell Centre.
Frontier Fellowship: Helping innovators with proven ideas take their work to the next level, turning it into a scalable business. This Fellowship is hosted by the Babraham Research Campus.
About Our ProgrammesThe Ecosystem
We’re creating a vibrant, UK-wide neurotechnology community, where leaders from business, science, engineering, academia and the NHS can meet, spark ideas and form collaborations. This will involve quarterly events in Cambridge, road trip events across the UK and access to the thriving online Cambridge network, Connect: Health Tech.
